Charity Village A list of organizations across Canada that accept goods as charitable donations.
Diabetes Recycle Ink Not only are you helping the environment, but each eligible cartridge donated through the program also helps the Canadian Diabetes Association obtain much needed funding.
Ernestine's Women's Shelter [GTA] The following NEW items are always in need at the shelter: hygiene products like shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste; non-perishable food for our food bank; fresh food for our kitchen; and cleaning supplies. In addition they accpet he following used or new items: household items, like dishes, pots and pans, linens and towels; small household appliances like toasters and microwaves; computers; and office equipment or supplies. Unfortunately, they cannot take donations of furniture, but recommend Furniture Bank as a great alternative.
Furniture Bank [GTA] Furniture Bank collects and distributes donated furniture and other household items to assist a wide variety of persons in Toronto who are in need.
Goodwill Donate your gently used items to your local depot.
Habitat for Humanity Canada Donate leftover renovation supplies.
Jane/Finch Community and Family Centre [GTA] Before you go, call ahead.
Jessie's Centre for Teenagers [GTA] A multi-service resource for pregnant and parenting teenagers who are eighteen years old or younger, and their children. Jessie's maintains a "Swap Shop" which is a room filled with baby clothes and equipment, household items and clothes for young women. This program relies completely on donations from community members. The teens take what they need for themselves and their children free of charge.
Ontario Early Years Centres In addition to accepting gently-used books, toys and art supplies, our local centre accepts gently-used clothing to give to needy families.
reBOOT Canada [GTA] Non-profit organization that accepts donations of computer equipment. It refurbishes and distributes them to non-profit organizations. Anything that can't be fixed is respnsibly recycled. They offer a tax receipt for the market value of your computer.
Salvation Army Donate your gently used items to your local depot.
Sketch [GTA] Donate arts and crafts supplies. Sketch creates art making opportunities for young people who live street-involved and homeless or who are considered to be at risk.
Phones for Food The mission of the thINK FOOD / Phones-for-Food project is to alleviate hunger and divert waste from landfill sites by raising funds for local food banks through the process of recycling used inkjet cartridges and cell phones.

Free for Toronto children [GTA] A message board to post the request for, or to offer, free children's things.
Freecycle A grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns.

Car Heaven By sending your car to Car Heaven you are ensuring that your vehicle will be responsibly recycled, that all the hazardous components will be removed and diverted from the landfill, parts that can be reused will be salvaged, and the steel and other metals will be recycled.
Hazardous household waste [GTA] Find out how to safely dispose of hazardous household waste such as paints, pesticides, propane tanks, batteries, syringes, used motor oil and many cleaning products. These items contain toxic ingredients and should be used and disposed of with caution.
